On Saturday 7th April 2018 a plaque was unveiled outside the shop in memory of Ray Challinor who was the Village Shop's first chairman.
On the 28th November 2015 the shop had it's annual Christmas bazaar. There was plenty to buy and do, including face-painting, biscuit decorating and children from Hyde Heath Infant School came to sing.

Following a break-in in February the Village Shop committee decided it would be sensible to not only repair the damage, but also extend the shop to bring it in line with the village hall. The building work started in August and was finished in November 2014, giving the shop more space inside and also a redesigned forecourt outside.

Mary Berry visits (again) October 13th 2012. The Village Shop encouraged all the children to bake and bring cakes to be judged in the Hyde Heath Bake Off.

The event was highly successful raising over £600 for the Village Shop of which £320 was donated to Children in Need. A further £50 collected in The Plough was also donated, making a total contribution from the Village of £370 - thank you to everyone who supported the day's events.

Ray Challinor, chairman and driving force in setting up our Village Shop in 2001 retired from the committee at the shop AGM on Wednesday 30th April 2008. Ruth Coulton and Chris Sargeant presented him with an antique map of Bucks as a token of appreciation from the committee for his tremendous service to the village
BBC Three Counties Radio visited the shop to record a piece on 'how we did it' to be broadcast publicly. Ian Deely chatted with Chris Sargeant, Wendy Axe and Sylvia Brown to the background of a tinkling till of coming and going.
The Buckinghamshire Ambassadors scheme was launched in October 2004 and is co-ordinated by Buckinghamshire County Council to bring together key people from all walks of life to raise the profile of Buckinghamshire and to promote economic growth in the country. Awards were given in ten categories at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Marlow on April 27th 2006 and the Village Shop was proud to be recognised as a runner up in the Social enterprise section.

Chris and Ruth with the new stye premises licence for the sale of alcohol issued in 2005. Hyde Heath Village Shop was the first business in the Chilterns area to be issued with one.
Hyde Heath's new Village Shop and the Village Hall was officially opened on Saturday June 14th 2003 by Councillor Francis Robinson with local MP Cheryl Gillan in attendance. Villagers enjoyed wine and refreshments in the warm sunshine in between shopping expeditions :)
The fittings inside the village shop begin, and while this is happening papers are sold from the bus shelter on the 31st May and 1st June! Stock soon begins to fill up the village shop....
The portacabin closed at 5.30pm on Friday 30th May 2003 after being in use for 2 years and 2 months and was finally taken away on the 10th June
The new hall entrance began to take shape in early January, with the roof following shortly after. As work progressed on the outside work was moving just as swiftly on the inside. The clock tower was also built and finished taking shape on the 29th April 2003, along with the shop doors being installed.
Building the new Village Shop started on the 10th September 2002 with the drains in position on the 19th October and the first brickwork being completed on the 19th December. It wasn't as easy as the pictures make it look though as a water pipe broke on the first day!
